The Ritz-Carlton Kowloon Becomes The Tallest Hotel In The World-118 Stories

With Hong Kong’s wealth continuing to skyrocket, it’s no surprise its luxury hotels are soaring too. This month’s FORBES World Billionaire list revealed that Hong Kong had added 11 new tycoons for a total of 36 billionaires (lead, as always, by business superman, Li Ka-shing). This week the town debuted a new Ritz-Carlton, now the highest hotel in the world.
The Ritz-Carlton’s newest joint is housed in Hong Kong’s International Commerce Centre. Occupying  floors 102 to 118 of the Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) designed sky scraper, the 490 meter high Ritz-Carton is the world’s tallest hotel. The rates are pretty high too: rooms start at $575 a night. A premier suite fetches $1,670.
Here’s how KPF describes their new tower:
With interiors by Singapore’s LTW, the hotel will offer 312 guest rooms, all providing spectacular city and harbour views. Other hotel amenities include six unique dining venues, an 860-square-meter spa by ESPA, a glass-enclosed infinity pool with LED screen ceiling and an outdoor terrace with a glass-enclosed bar, both on the 118th floor. ICC is the essence of Hong Kong in one destination: world-class hospitality, high-powered finance, global tourism, and luxury shopping, all in a single tower built over a sophisticated transportation network spanning the Pearl River Delta.
